Tractian Raises $130M Series D. It Still Won't Post a Price.

Tractian raised $130 million on Oct. 22, 2026. The company says the round values it at $1.4 billion. If you run a crew of 6 to 12 techs, the money changes one thing: you may see Tractian in more demos. It doesn’t change the price you can see, which is still no price.

Sapphire Ventures led the round. M&G’s Catalyst co-led it. Tractian’s release also names N47, General Catalyst, Bosch Ventures, 53 Stations, Monashees, Endeavor Catalyst, Norte Ventures and Y Combinator, with “such as,” so the list may not be complete. The release doesn’t say if $1.4 billion is before or after the new money.

Where the money goes

Tractian’s chief revenue officer, David Walters, wrote on Oct. 27 that the round funds four things:

  • Moving beyond the factory: data centers, defense, utilities, energy and water, rail and transit. Manufacturing stays the core.
  • Selling more to current customers: more assets and more sites.
  • Manufacturers moving production back to the U.S.
  • Physical AI, meaning hardware and software trained on equipment in real plants.

Sapphire’s own post lists Europe, data centers, defense and the public sector, and energy. That list is not the same as Walters’ list, so treat neither as the official one.

What you can’t see yet: a price

On Nov. 1, 2026, we checked Tractian’s English pricing page. It is titled “Get Custom Quote.” It shows no price per user and no price per sensor. It says the quote is scoped to your assets and risk, “not simply a sensor count.” The old CMMS and vibration sensor pricing URLs both send you to that same page.

So for 6 techs, 10 techs or 12 techs, the public answer is the same: ask for a quote. Compare that with MaintainX, which posts a per-user price you can multiply by your crew.

The pages we read also don’t show contract length, renewal terms or cancellation. Ask for all three in writing before you sign.

Is it a CMMS or a sensor?

Mostly sensors, going by Tractian’s own pages. They say sensors watch machines 24/7 and create work orders that sync to “your CMMS.” They name Excel, SAP, Maximo and UpKeep as systems it connects to, and say there is “no new platform to learn.”

Tractian says the sensors use 4G/LTE, with no plant Wi-Fi or IT work. It also says most customers are “fully operational within 14 days.” That sentence is about the time sensors need to learn a machine. It is not a CMMS setup time.

Sapphire’s post says Tractian also sells TracOS, a maintenance management system. The pages we read on Nov. 1 don’t use that name. We can’t tell you if it is sold on its own. Ask in the demo whether the sensors and the CMMS are quoted as one price or two.

None of the pages we read cover what your techs would tap or whether it works offline. Test that on the floor before you buy.

Tractian’s numbers, in Tractian’s words

  • Tractian says it has over 2,000 customers. Its release also says “more than 2,000 critical facilities.” Sapphire says “roughly 2,000 plants.” Those are three different counts, so we don’t pick one.
  • The release names Eli Lilly, McKesson, Whirlpool, Coca-Cola bottling facilities, Cummins and Embraer as customers. We didn’t check with them.
  • Walters says Ingredion went from one plant to “over a dozen sites in three countries.” We didn’t check with Ingredion.
  • Tractian says it has more than 700 employees.

Funding is not a sale

This round is money into Tractian. Nobody bought Tractian, and Tractian didn’t buy a CMMS. If you worry about a vendor changing owners at renewal, nothing in these sources says that is happening here. A well-funded vendor can still raise prices, and today there is no posted price to compare against.

Sapphire also led Tractian’s $120 million Series C, announced Dec. 5, 2024. Google shows that post with a Sept. 18, 2026 date. That is an update stamp, not a new round.

Before a Tractian demo

  1. Ask for the price for your exact asset list, in dollars a year.
  2. Ask if sensors and CMMS are one line or two.
  3. Ask for contract length, renewal terms and the price after year one.
  4. Ask which CMMS the work orders land in, and who sets that up.
